The tomb-like edifice has eagles on the corners of the plinth flanking the coat of arms partly framed by two branches of laurels above the inscription ‘Jacobus Zabarella Pat. Com. Pal.’ (added, presumably by Jacomo Zabarella, d. 1589). His motto Sapiens dominabitur astris is added to the base of the next part, a tablet with cardinal’s arms which perhaps connect with the original owner whose arms are probably overpainted, and the title M. Tullii Ciceronis Fam. Aepist. The tablet is flanked by two kneeling winged putti looking at each other: the one on the left holding a tambourine below a bow and a quiver of arrows suspended with fruit and leaves on ribbons from the corner of the cornice; the putto on the right is playing a drum below a scimitar and shield with a face on, suspended in the same manner.
